Canes 0 @ Leafs 3

Well, it has been a while since I last posted on this blog. I meant to keep up to date and make posts after each game but I have fallen behind a little bit. Last time I posted the Leafs were 5-3-1 in their first 9 games. Well, what a downhill spiral since then.

The Leafs beat the Canes tonight 3-0 behind the first career shutout for James Reimer. He wasn't tested much, but in the third period he stood tall and held the fort. Boyce, Versteeg and McCarthur scored for the Leafs and in an interesting stat the Leafs are 11-0-2 when Versteeg scores a goal. What does this mean?

Leafs 0 @ Boston 2

The Leafs lost last night to Boston (again). Kessel continues to struggle against the Bruins, but I don't think that is because of it being his old team, but because of the great defense that the Bruins play. He only has 1 assist in all the games against them. The monster played well last night and only gave up 2 goals and really kept the Leafs in it, but their draft pick that they traded away stuck the dagger in their heart scoring the 2nd goal and making a comeback almost unreachable. The Leafs had their chances in the first period and a bit, but couldn't capitalize and now their record is 5-3-1 in 9 games which if anyone said that is what it would be at the beginning of the season then they would take it.

I am happy with the start and lets hope for more wins and try to get into the playoffs. Montreal and Boston are playing well and I don't think that the Leafs will win the division, but lets hope for a 7th or 8th seed.

NY Islanders @ Toronto Maple Leafs

Islanders @ Leafs tonight 7pm.

The Islanders are 2-1-2 heading into tonight's game a surprise start for them. The Leafs meanwhile are 4-0-0 with a very inspiring start to the season. Leafs should have the advantage tonight and I could see them coming out with a win. Lebda will be playing tonight in place of Gunnarsonn who has looked a little shaky through the first four games. All other lines and roster stops stay in tack.
